Streamlight Sidewinder Military Light

Description

Streamlight Sidewinder Multi-Colour Tactical Headlamp

The Streamlight Sidewinder is a purpose-built, hands-free illumination tool designed for the demands of military, fire, rescue, and industrial operations. With a choice of white, infrared (IR), red, blue, and green LEDs — each independently selectable — the Sidewinder adapts to a wide range of tactical and operational requirements where the right light source at the right moment can be critical.

185° Articulating Head

The Sidewinder’s head pivots through 185°, allowing precise beam direction whether mounted on a helmet, worn on a belt, or attached via cord to equipment. The cord attachment holes in the battery compartment cover are rated to support up to 11 kg (25 lbs) of load, making secure attachment to gear straightforward in the field.

Glove-Friendly Controls

Designed from the ground up for use with gloved hands, the Sidewinder features a pull-to-turn locking rotary knob that prevents accidental mode changes. A single push-button cycles through four intensity levels — low through high — while a double-click activates a high-intensity strobe. No fumbling, no guesswork under pressure.

Runtime based on two AA alkaline batteries. IR output shown as radiant intensity (mW/sr).

Power and Battery

The Sidewinder runs on two standard AA alkaline batteries (included). For extreme environment use — from -40°F to 150°F (-40°C to 65°C) — lithium AA cells extend runtime and maintain reliable operation. Tactile polarity indicators on the body allow battery replacement in complete darkness, and the tethered battery compartment cap ensures the cap stays with the light during field changes.

Rugged and Weatherproof Construction

The housing is built from high-impact, super-tough nylon for exceptional durability and weather resistance in harsh conditions. All openings are O-ring sealed, the lens is unbreakable polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating, and the unit is rated IPX7 waterproof — submersible to 1 metre for up to 30 minutes.

Dimensions & Weight

  • Height 59.4 mm (2.34 in)
  • Weight — alkaline batteries 142 g (5.02 oz), lithium batteries 124 g (4.38 oz)
