Description
SMZ 30 Inflatable Rescue System for Emergency Response up to 30m
The Sonmez SMZ 30 Safety Air Cushion is a rapid-deployment inflatable rescue system designed for emergency evacuation and rescue operations from height. Suitable for fire and rescue services, industrial emergency response teams, mining operations and specialist rescue units, the SMZ 30 provides a controlled landing area when conventional evacuation routes are unavailable or inaccessible.
Designed for single-person use per rescue cycle, the SMZ 30 can be inflated in approximately 75 seconds and returns to an operational state in less than 20 seconds between uses. With a maximum operating height of up to 30 metres, it provides an effective solution for medium-rise rescue and evacuation scenarios.
Manufactured from durable neoprene-based materials, the cushion is designed to resist abrasion, moisture, tearing and environmental exposure while remaining suitable for demanding emergency response environments.

How the SMZ 30 Works
The Sonmez SMZ 30 uses a multi-chamber inflatable design to create a controlled landing area during emergency rescue operations. When a person lands on the cushion, the structure temporarily deforms and compressed air is released through dedicated ventilation openings. This controlled release of air assists with impact absorption before the cushion automatically returns to its operating shape, ready for the next rescue cycle.
The design incorporates separate upper and lower chambers, a designated landing zone and reflective visibility markings to support emergency responders during deployment and operation.

Why Choose the Sonmez SMZ 30?
The SMZ 30 provides a balance between operational capability, transportability and deployment speed. With a maximum operating height of up to 30 metres, it is well suited to commercial buildings, industrial facilities and other structures requiring a mid-range rescue safety cushion solution.
Features such as reflective visibility bands, integrated carrying handles, a designated landing zone and rapid recovery between rescue cycles help support efficient deployment and operation during time-critical incidents. The relatively compact footprint also assists organisations where deployment space may be limited.

FAQ
The SMZ 30 is designed for rescue and evacuation operations involving structures up to 30 metres in height, making it suitable for many commercial, industrial and medium-rise building applications
The primary differences are the maximum operating height, deployment footprint and overall size. The SMZ 30 is designed for operations up to 30 metres, while the SMZ 60 is intended for high-rise rescue scenarios up to 60 metres.
The cushion uses a multi-chamber design that temporarily deforms during use. Air is released through dedicated ventilation openings, helping dissipate energy before the cushion returns to its operational shape for subsequent rescue cycles.
Key considerations include maximum operating height, deployment area requirements, storage space, transport requirements, personnel availability and the types of structures likely to be encountered during emergency response operations. Talk to our team for more information.
