Firefighting foam degrades over time and poor quality or incorrectly mixed foam can fail when it matters most. Fire Response offers a professional foam testing service conducted by VS Focum’s accredited laboratory in Spain — one of the world’s leading foam analysis facilities, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
Every test covers the full range of physical-chemical properties including specific gravity, pH value, expansion index, 25% drainage time, surface tension, interfacial tension, freezing point, refractive index, viscosity, and a live fire test to confirm real-world suppression performance. Testing is conducted to European standard EN-1568 using heptane and acetone as standard, with testing to other international standards (ICAO, IMO, UL, IEC, BS, NF, ISO) available on request. Results are delivered within three working days of the lab receiving your sample, electronically signed by a Graduated Chemist.
Foam quality can be compromised by dilution, evaporation, topping up with incompatible products, or exposure to excessively high or low storage temperatures. If you are unsure whether your foam has degraded, been stored correctly, or will perform to the required standard, testing provides definitive answers before you need to rely on it in an emergency.
To arrange testing, send us a 5 litre sample after recirculation of your foam tank, along with all available information about the concentrate. Contact us to organise your test or to discuss your requirements.
