Personal Protection Fire Blanket – as used by RFS
Used by the NSW Rural Fire Service, this Personal Protection Fire Blanket, featuring a composition of 15% Aramid and 85% Wool, was developed in conjunction with the NSW – Rural Fire Service. Meeting and exceeding the AS4824(int) standard, this blanket is used in trucks and vehicles operated by this Fire Authority.
Aramid is known for its strength and heat-resistance making it the perfect fire protection blanket during bushfire ember attacks and an essential item for anyone living in a fire prone area.

What is Aramid?
Aramid fibres are a class of heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibres (high density nylon) characterised by excellent resistance to heat – it neither melts nor ignites in normal levels of oxygen. It is used extensively in the production of protective apparel, air filtration, thermal and electrical insulation and is utilised as a substitute for asbestos. It was first developed for use by the US military.
